Kato Paphos Archaeology Park - You could easily spend hours pottering around this fantastic attraction close to the harbour. There are structures here that go back to prehistory, but the most famous remnants are from the Roman era.
The ruins of four villas survive from this time and boast stunningly detailed mosaics, all dating to the year 100 and depicting scenes from Roman mythology.
St Paul's Pillar - This is one of Cyprus’ most significant pilgrimage sites. Back in 45 AD it wasn’t a great idea to try to spread Christianity to places that didn’t want it – if you were interested in self-preservation.
Paul the Apostle came to Paphos to convert the ruler from Paganism, and for his efforts got 39 lashes. In the grounds of Panagia Chrysopolitissa, a handsome Orthodox/Anglican church on the site of an ancient basicila, you’ll find the pillar to which the saint was tied for his punishment.

Thanos Hotels & Resorts strives to protect the health of our guests and team members alike. We prioritize your wellbeing and that of your families by implementing a number of initiatives that will lead to a clean and comfortable stay.
Our aim is to make your stay as safe and enjoyable as possible. As such, we have spared no effort to reduce the risk of infection and will be adopting a range of new measures to achieve this.
We have introduced a new Pandemic Management Team who have been fully briefed by our professional Health and Safety Consultants. This team is responsible for ensuring that all our employees are fully conversant with the new measures. All staff have been trained in the most effective hygeine procedures to use during their working hours and they have been provided with the correct PPE for their duties; all in accordance with WHO guidelines and national advice.
As a precautionary measure, all our front-line employees have been tested for Covid-19.
New procedures in the common areas: . Hand sanitising gels will be placed at the entrance to all common areas, including restaurant, reception, elevator doors and public washrooms. Distance markers will be placed in the appropriate areas to remind guests of the required distance for effective social distancing. All door handles, tables and surfaces will be deep-cleaned and disinfected throughout the day.
New Check-in procedures. We have established a new reception area which will optimise social distancing at check-in. Check-in is fully automated and completely free of pen and paper.
New Room hygiene procedures. The door to your room will be sealed before you enter, to reassure you that you will be the first to enter the room after it has been cleaned. Daily housekeeping will now be on-demand only, and will take place whilst you are out enjoying the fresh air or dining. The mini-bar will be fully stocked at check-in and only be refilled at your request. The housekeeping team are trained to ensure that your room is fully sanitised at each clean. All air-conditioners have been chemically cleaned.
New Restaurant procedures. We encourge eating all meals outdoors. All indoor restaurant areas will be subject to additional safety measures. We have re-organised our table layouts to offer the maximum space between tables. Cutlery and crockery will be sterlised and set on the table at the time that the guest arrives, to ensure everything is freshly clean. Breakfast will be served either outdoors to your table, or in luxurious breakfast baskets brought directly to your room to enjoy in total privacy.
We apologise for any inconvenience these additional measures may cause during your stay, but we hope you will understand the seriousness with which we are taking the health and safety of our employees, guests and the local community.
