Dunalastair Hotel Suites
Kinloch Rannoch, Pitlochry, Scotland
Dunalastair Hotel Suites is a privately owned Victorian hotel, located on the village square of Kinloch Rannoch, on the edge of Loch Rannoch and the 'Schiehallion' mountain.
Dunalastair Hotel Suites was first converted into a hotel at the turn of the last century and originally constructed as a Victorian Highland Sporting Lodge.
In 2014 we purchased the hotel and a multi-million-pound refurbishment was launched. Several millions later with lots of passion and love, Dunalastair Hotel Suites was born.
Set in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, the opportunities are boundless from wildlife, lochs, mountains, watersports, stalking, hiking trails, cycling routes and many more – all on the doorsteps of the hotel.
Today, Kinloch Rannoch is a hub for tourism, farming and forestry. The residents are as friendly and welcoming as the picturesque scenery surrounding them.
Situated in the shadow of the Schiehallion (a Munro and an excellent climb), Kinloch Rannoch boasts some lovely walks: Carie Forest, by the South Loch Road; along the waterfall that feeds into the River Tummel and up Craig Varr; the Sleeping Giant or alongside Loch Rannoch itself.
One thing is certain, there simply isn’t enough time in the day to enjoy everything the Highlands have to offer.
Their ethos embraces all aspects of sustainability environmental, economic and social. Not only does Dunalastair Hotel Suites embrace the environmental agenda, but by putting what guests want at the core of the concept and encouraging them to utilize the services of neighboring local businesses, economic and social sustainability is actively promoted.
The scenic route along Lochs Tummel and Rannoch is worth doing any way you can – by foot, bicycle or car.
Hillsides shrouded with ancient birchwoods and forests of spruce, pine and larch make up the fabulous Tay Forest Park, whose wooded hills roll into the glittering waters of the lochs; a visit in autumn, when the birch leaves are at their finest, is recommended.
Eighteen miles west of Kinloch Rannoch the road ends at romantic and isolated Rannoch Station, which lies on the Glasgow–Fort William railway line.
Beyond sprawls the desolate expanse of Rannoch Moor. There's an excellent tearoom on the station platform, and a welcoming small hotel alongside.
Be aware that Rannoch Station is a dead-end, and the nearest service station is at Aberfeldy.

The safety and wellbeing of our valued guests, our wonderful staff and the local community has always been our first priority.
Our meticulous daily housekeeping and cleaning regimes continue as always but we have taken a number of additional measures, some of which you may notice, most will be very discrete.
