With its visibly smoking crater and vile sulphurous fumes, Vulcano makes an indelible first impression. The island's volcanic nature has long been impressing visitors: the ancient Romans believed it to be the chimney of the fire god Vulcan's workshop, and today it remains famous for its therapeutic mud baths and hot springs. The main drawcard, however, remains the Fossa di Vulcano (Gran Cratere), the steaming volcano that towers over the island's northeastern shores.
The Aeolian Islands located in the Tyrrhenian Sea consists of seven beautiful islands that have a “Y-shaped” configuration when viewed from the sky. The islands include Stromboli, Vulcano, Alicudi, Filicudi, Panarea, Lipari, and Salina.
They are collectively called the “seven pearls of the Mediterranean” and according to history, they were named The Aeolian Islands after the Greek god of the wind, Aeolus who is also referred to as “holder of the winds”.

WHAT WE ARE DOING TO HELP KEEP YOU SAFE?
Thanks to the latest generation technology, the sanitization of the premises takes place through an innovative system that acts through the automatic introduction of an active sanitizing principle, with a broad spectrum action on viruses and bacteria.
All the equipment at your disposal, as well as the vehicles dedicated to transfers, are constantly sanitized. Inside the Resort you will also have hand sanitizing gel, masks and disposable gloves available.
LOCATION IMMERSED IN NATURE
Our Resort is located in a unique natural context: the wonderful scenery of the Aeolian Islands – UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can enjoy large outdoor spaces, unspoiled nature and breathtaking sunsets.
ARRIVAL AND RESORT SERVICES
Upon arrival, our staff will measure body temperature and, if this is greater than / equal to 37.5 °, access to the facilities will unfortunately not be allowed.
To minimize interaction with the Reception staff, some check-in operations will be carried out online. If this is not possible, in order to avoid gatherings, the document will be collected and registration carried out later.
DISTANCE AND LARGE SPACES
The wide-ranging spaces that characterize the Therasia Resort Sea & Spa make your experience even more exclusive, offering the conditions to be spaced naturally and without any effort. To ensure maximum individual space, we will initially operate with a reduced number of occupied rooms.
RESTAURANTS AND BARS
The arrangement and number of tables in the restaurants have been redesigned to guarantee ample space. In addition, part of the buffet will be replaced by an à la carte service and you can view the menus from your personal devices via QR Code. To give you the opportunity to enjoy our menus from the privacy of your room, we have finally optimized the Room Service department.
THERASIA NATURAL SPA
In order to avoid crowds, access to the Indoor pool is limited and constantly monitored by the staff. Sauna and the Turkish bath are closed as per Government decree. The gym equipment and machinery are cleaned and sanitized after each use; Our therapists wear the appropriate protective equipment and at the end of each treatment the cabins are completely sanitized.
